Troubleshoot a missing GA4 property after connecting Google
Check account identity, property permissions and granted scopes when Analytics account discovery is incomplete.
Google consent gives an application permission to act within the access your account already has. It does not grant access to an Analytics property you cannot read. A missing property is therefore an identity and permission question before it is a reporting problem.
Work through it, step by step.
Confirm which Google account you connected and which account can see the property in Analytics. Record the property ID so similarly named properties do not confuse the check.
Ask a property administrator to verify the account’s access. Check the actual granted Analytics permission in the connection rather than assuming every requested scope was approved.
Reconnect when permissions have changed and retry discovery. If a request fails, keep the provider error and property ID for investigation without sharing tokens or secrets.
Make it concrete.
A marketer approves consent with a personal account while the property is shared only with a work account. Repeating the same consent with the personal account does not resolve the missing access.
