Search Console / Practical guide

Analyse Search Console performance by country

Prioritise international search opportunities using relevance, visibility and the markets your business can serve.

THE SHORT ANSWER

A new country in a search report is an invitation to investigate, not an automatic reason to launch a translated site. Check the queries and the business’s ability to serve that audience. Traffic from an unsupported market may have little practical value.

Work through it, step by step.

  1. Group performance by country over a complete period and identify meaningful absolute changes. Keep the business’s target markets beside the report.

  2. For a promising country, inspect the pages and queries generating visibility. Look for language, product availability and delivery questions that the existing content does not answer.

  3. Review the localised page experience and the native search results. Ask whether a translation, clearer availability information or no change at all would serve users best.

ILLUSTRATIVE EXAMPLE · NOT CUSTOMER DATA

Make it concrete.

A store gains visibility in a country it cannot ship to. A transparent delivery notice may be more useful than celebrating the impression growth or building a local campaign immediately.

What to keep in mind.

A country segment does not identify a visitor’s language, residence or purchase intent with certainty. Avoid using one dimension as a complete audience profile.

Your next useful step.

Build a small market brief with search demand evidence, content gaps and operational constraints. Prioritise a market only when the search opportunity and the service experience both make sense.
